Stepping up post-adoption support

Properly resourced and funded therapeutic services post-adoption need to be the norm and not simply the aspiration, says Baljinder Bath.

A few years ago, I was instructed to advise a birth mother who had been contacted via social media by a teenager I shall call X, who it turned out was her child.

X (and her siblings) had been removed from her mother's care as a toddler during care proceedings and subsequently adopted.
