Steps towards a smart city

Ashley Feldman says smart cities have brilliant and sometimes unexpected benefits if done right, but at this time of systemic challenges, we need to talk about delivery.

Smart cities are nothing new. As a professional community we understand the technology, its application, and how its use can drive benefits for people, the economy, and the planet.

However, in 2022, as we navigate a period of great instability, the time feels right to take stock of where the smart city movement is now and examine why delivering smart cities can still be a fraught process.
