Stoke cuts assistant chief post to save cash

Stoke-on-Trent Council has announced plans to cut the post of assistant chief executive as part of a shake up designed to save money.

Stoke-on-Trent Council has announced plans to cut the post of assistant chief executive as part of a shake up designed to save money. 

Charlie Stewart, who was on a salary of £168,970, joined the council in 2012 and has been overseeing a controversial move to a new headquarters. At the same time, interim director of place, John Betty has been replaced by David Sidaway.
