New strategic director appointed at Birmingham City Council

A new strategic director for children, young people and families has been appointed by Birmingham City Council.

A new strategic director for children, young people and families has been appointed by Birmingham City Council.

Peter Duxbury, currently executive director of childrens and adults services at Lincolnshire CC, was offered the job earlier this month following a series of interviews, including one by a panel of four young people. Mr Duxbury, a former social worker and youth justice worker, worked at a number of local authorities in the north-west of England before becoming assistant director of childrens services at Liverpool City Council in 2001.
