The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) has revealed its annual income fell by more than one-quarter last year – due largely to cuts in central government funding.

NCVO accounts for 2011/12 were published on 2 November, and show the organisation's total income fell by 27%, from £10.14m to £7.39m, over the 12-month period. This included a cut in the Office for Civil Society's strategic grant from £1.1m to £500,000 and the loss of more than £1.5m from various grants linked to the Capacitybuilders programme.
