Councils are braced for increased pressure on homelessness services after the Home Office announced a streamlined asylum process for some legacy claims.

Councils are braced for increased pressure on homelessness services after the Home Office announced a streamlined asylum process for some legacy claims.

The Government said the streamlined process, which involves applicants from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Libya, Syria and Yemen completing questionnaires rather than undergoing interviews, would apply to around 12,000 adults.
