Southwark LBC is making huge strides in reducing homelessness. Its best practice model involves getting to the heart of the reasons people become homeless in the first place and resolving these issues with specialist services. Now its best practice has spread nationally. Cllr Stephanie Cryan explains
I grew up in a council home. I remember watching Cathy Come Home and the horror of seeing Cardboard City near Waterloo Station in the 1980s made an impact on me that I won't forget.
Housing is my passion and the drive to ensure nobody suffers homelessness is personal. I have huge ambitions for Southwark's service.
