Elected members in Stroud DC have rejected plans to slash the number of district councillors from 51 to 30.

A meeting of full council on 25 April voted against the motion tabled by Stroud's Conservative group, which cited a 2011 survey indicating more than three quarters (76%) of residents wished to see the number of councillors cut.
