Health watchdogs have reported improvements in the accuracy of data used by the NHS's PbR system.

Health watchdogs have reported improvements in the accuracy of data used by the NHS's payment-by-results (PbR) system, designed to ensure fair hospital funding.

According to the Audit Commission's annual study of PbR data for 2011/12, the individual performance of primary care trusts varies each year – with many failing to maintain consistently good levels of accuracy, and some blighted by continued poor performance.
