Stunell launches 'carbon zero' homes plan

Changes to the country's building regulations,announced by Andrew Stunell could ensure all new homes are carbon zero by 2016.

Proposed changes to the country's building regulations, announced by communities minister Andrew Stunell on 31 January, could ensure all new homes are carbon zero by 2016.

Launching a consultation which lasts until 27 April, Mr Stunell stressed ministers wish to proceed in a way 'that doesn't add to the regulatory burden on businesses', and claimed the new set of building regulations would save firms over £63m annually by cutting red tape.
