Call for 'super' North East combined authority

The leader of South Tyneside Council has called for the creation of a ‘super’ combined authority, which would span the whole of the North East.

The leader of South Tyneside Council has called for the creation of a ‘super' combined authority, which would span the whole of the North East.

Speaking to The MJ, Cllr Iain Malcolm said he wanted to have a conversation with the North East Combined Authority and the five Tees Valley councils about creating an enlarged combined authority, which stretches from the Scottish Border to North Yorkshire.
