Business leaders have warned that council plans to tax larger supermarkets will only lead to larger food bills for shoppers.

Business leaders have warned that council plans to tax larger supermarkets will only lead to larger food bills for shoppers.

A group of 20 local authorities, lead by Derby City Council, called on the Government this week to introduce a 8.5% business rate levy on large supermarkets or retail outlets with an annual rateable value of more than £500,000.
