Barnsley MBC's director of public health report looked at how the council has responded to the cost of living crisis. Julia Burrows reflects on how the impact is being mitigated.

We all know about the cost-of-living crisis, it's unavoidable. People across the country are struggling to provide daily essentials such as food and keeping themselves warm.

Here in Barnsley, ranked the 30th most deprived local authority nationally, we already have lower average earnings and lower employment.
