Tackle low morale, expert tells DCLG

According to a renowned workplace psychologist, Sir Bob Kerslake and senior Eland House directors must take responsibilty for low staff morale.

Civil service chief, Sir Bob Kerslake, and senior Eland House directors must take responsibility for a turnaround in low staff morale at the DCLG, according to a renowned workplace psychologist.

Professor Cary Cooper's warning followed analysis of the 17 main Whitehall departments in the civil service people survey 2011, which ranked the DCLG joint-bottom for staff engagement, with a 40% approval rating – an 8% decrease since 2010.
