Tackling roots of unrest is a long-term project

The sight of rioters rampaging through the streets may be a damning indictment of modern Britain, but the bigger disgrace is the thugs who egg them on from the comfort of their keyboards, claiming to be the voice of the people while inciting hatred.

The sight of rioters rampaging through the streets may be a damning indictment of modern Britain, but the bigger disgrace is the thugs who egg them on from the comfort of their keyboards, claiming to be the voice of the people while inciting hatred.

But is that a true representation of modern Britain? Or is it the community heroes that volunteer to put their places back together in the aftermath of the destruction? Is it the councillors, frontline staff and communities that pull together to erase the damage and put pride back in places?
