Diary never imagined it would find itself in such intimate proximity with District Councils' Network (DCN) chairman John Fuller to see him wearing an apron.

But Cllr Fuller's apron apparel was displayed for all to see at DCN's national conference last week when the dapper district leader donned the pristine pinny to make a point about local government finance.
