Why it's good to talk about care

Rachel Law says that at least some of the new ideas needed in social care are to be found close to home if we take a more informal and exploratory approach with providers.

Almost 150 years ago, a Parisian obstetrician, Stephane Tarnier, took a day off work and went to the zoo.

Fascinated by an exhibit of a chicken incubator, he watched the hatchlings totter about and it triggered a connection in his mind. He commissioned a similar contraption and began to use it on babies born in his hospital.
