Smith Square has called for swift meetings with Whitehall departments designed to ease the impact of hefty council tax benefit (CTB) savings on vulnerable areas.

The Local Government Association (LGA) is concerned the 10% savings the Treasury has demanded from councils in return for the localisation of CTB will lead to ‘some areas being affected disproportionately'.
