Town hall leaders have blasted a decision by the Scottish Government to cash grab £100m from council tax income, labelling it an ‘affront to local democracy'.

The Scottish Government voted through a series of measures last week aimed at reforming the council tax system, including adjusting the four highest bands of E-H in a bid to generate an extra £100m for its schools attainment fund.
