Teams help make Salisbury a success

In the aftermath of the Salisbury Novichok attack, the town faces a unique issue with its local economy. Wiltshire Council asked the second LG Challenge of the year to come up with plans to rebuild its high street, writes Robert Gibson.

The challenging context Salisbury finds itself in the aftermath of last year's Novichok incident was set out during a presentation from director of growth, investment and place at Wiltshire Council Alistair Cunningham to the contestants at this year's second LG Challenge.

He explained footfall had collapsed and businesses were suffering. But the council has extensive plans to support the development of a cultural offer that attracts businesses and people back to the city and sets Salisbury up as an exemplar of high street regeneration.
