According to a new report councils could save a total of £730m in elderly care costs by using remote technology.

Councils could save a total of £730m in elderly care costs by using remote technology to allow elderly people to stay in their own homes for longer, according to a new report.

An assessment by FACE Recording and Measurement Systems found local authorities in England could save between 7.4% and 19.4% of their social care budget by opting for telecare services instead of council-funded residential care.
