Telford and Wrekin Council has urged the Home Secretary to ban a planned march by the English Defence League set to take place in Wellington this Saturday, in the light of recent disorder across England.

The council wrote to Theresa May,seeking her to use powers contained under section 13 of the Public Order Act,to stop public processions posing a threat to public safety on the advice of West Mercia Police.
