Telford and Wrekin Council has ditched plans to relocate the authority's offices from Malinslee House to purpose built civic facilities in support of a £250m regeneration scheme.

The decision not to move into the Southwater area of the town centre follows the publication last night of a new budget, promised within the first 100 days by the incoming Labour group who took control after May's elections.
