A tenant conundrum

Paul Wheeler explains how councils need to be supporting local tenants

Those who have been around local government for some time can remember the impact of the ‘Tenants' Movement'. Mainly comprising formidable women, they would represent the interest of their residents to councils, councillors and anyone else they thought was getting in the way.

The Tenants' Movement is much reduced, but the need to represent tenants has never been greater, although these days, it is more likely to be private sector tenants in need.
