Four 'white elephant' regional fire control centres – branded by MPs as 'one of the worst cases of project failure' ever – have found new owners, ministers have announced.

Four ‘white elephant' regional fire control centres – branded by MPs as ‘one of the worst cases of project failure' ever – have found new owners, ministers have announced.

First commissioned in 2004, the FiReControl project aimed to replace 46 local fire and rescue control rooms with nine purpose-built regional centres connected by a new IT system.
