Tighter controls for 'chuggers' unveiled

New industry rules designed to regulate street fundraisers – often referred to as 'chuggers' – have come into force.

New industry rules designed to regulate street fundraisers – often referred to as ‘chuggers' – have come into force.

The rules came into effect on 20 August, and follow moves by local authorities – including Liverpool and Newcastle city councils – to limit the number of fundraisers on city centre streets.
