A minority Conservative administration propped up by the UKIP and Labour groups has seized control of Portsmouth City Council.

A minority Conservative administration propped up by the UKIP and Labour groups has seized control of Portsmouth City Council.

Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson, who heads up up the Lib Dem group on the Local Government Association, was deposed as council leader despite his party remaining the biggest group after the elections with 19 councillors.
