Tories and Lib Dems' strong election shows

There was good news in local elections for both the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives in July.

David Cameron's party gained overall control of Dover DC and two holds meant they held on to control of Guildford BC. There were also holds for them at Surrey CC and Chichester DC. But the Tories lost seats to the Lib Dems at Ashfield and New Forest DCs.
