A senior Conservative local government figure has accused the Lib Dems of not trusting voters with their manifesto commitment to scrap council tax referendums.

A senior Conservative local government figure has accused the Lib Dems of not trusting voters with their manifesto commitment to scrap council tax referendums.

Writing on the Conservative Home website, Hammersmith and Fulham LBC Cllr Harry Phibbs criticised the Lib Dems for their commitment in their general election manifesto to drop the referendums, which were brought in for council tax increases above 2%.
