Communities secretary Eric Pickles is facing calls to scale back the proposed powers of the commissioners he is poised to send into Tower Hamlets LBC.

Representations submitted by the council this week argued that Mr Pickles' intervention package should be ‘proportionate' and ‘limited' to the evidence in the report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) inspectors.
