The Government experts brought in to get Tower Hamlets LBC back on track in the wake of allegations of fraud and corruption took a step back last week.

Commissioners appointed by the-then communities secretary Eric Pickles last December, as part of the improvement process at the London borough, will no longer have direct control at the council, but will maintain some functions.
