It's no secret that new towns will be the Government's most potent tactic in meeting its ambitious housing targets. However, the critical question remains: what does it take to deliver genuinely viable developments at pace? 

Work has already begun with revisions of the National Planning Policy Framework and updating secondary legislation, and the new Planning and Infrastructure Bill promises 'seismic reforms' to help builders 'get shovels in the ground quicker'.
