The UK's COVID-19 vaccination roll out continues to be quick and efficient, and there is a great deal of optimism that we are on a path that will lead us to something very close to our old normal. However, there are a number of pandemic measures that will be with us for some time, including frequent handwashing, social distancing, masks and testing.
Large-scale lateral flow testing has been helping to keep recently returned pupils in schools, and many businesses have already adopted regular rapid testing, and others are planning to do that when the country fully opens. This is something councils and local authorities should be considering and planning for.
