'Transparency' exposes higher management fees

The rise in local government pension scheme (LGPS) management fees is mainly the result of greater transparency, Rob Whiteman, chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, has suggested.

He dismissed suggestions the £240m rise from last year and £315m increase since 2012/13 was due to rising costs.
