The viability of raising finance for large-scale infrastructure projects through local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) has been questioned by a senior local transport chief.

Tony Ciaburro, chair of the transport committee at the Association of Directors of the Economy, Environment, Planning and Transportation, claimed LEPs and local transport consortia could struggle to deliver the large infrastructure schemes required across the UK.
