Treasury figures revealing state spending per head in Scotland have led to renewed calls to overhaul the Barnett funding formula.

Treasury figures revealing people living in Scotland receive more than £1,600 in state spending per head than counterparts in England have led to renewed calls to overhaul the Barnett funding formula.

According to HM Treasury's Public Expenditure Statistical Analyses (PESA), in the last financial year (2010/2011) Scots were set to receive £10,212 per head compared with £8,588 in England.
