Triple-A rating for city council

Birmingham City Council joins ranks of councils obtaining credit ratings to access finance from a wider range of sources.

Birmingham City Council has joined the ranks of councils and public bodies obtaining credit ratings to access finance from a wider range of sources.

Following the example set by Kensington and Chelsea RLBC, Cornwall Council and Transport for London, credit-rating agency Moody's scored the UK's largest local authority the highest possible triple-A rating while Standard and Poor's rated the city council at AA+.
