Lancashire CC has submitted a report to the Planning Inspectorate opposing plans to store natural gas in caves beneath the parish of Preesall.

The Halite Energy Group has proposed storing up to 900 million cubic metres of natural gas in 19 purpose-built caverns, claiming it would create up to 3,000 jobs across the UK.
