Trust option on the table for Sandwell

Children’s social care services at Sandwell MBC could be transferred to a voluntary trust after they were rated ‘inadequate’ by inspectors.

Children's social care services at Sandwell MBC could be transferred to a voluntary trust after they were rated ‘inadequate' by inspectors.

Discussions are currently underway between the council and the Department for Education (DfE) on proposals to either move children's social care to a voluntary trust or appoint an executive commissioner to oversee care.
