Unemployment falls by 35,000

Unemployment fell 35,000 in the three months to February 2012 - the first recorded quarterly drop in official figures since May 2011 - the Office for National Statistics (ONS) today reported.

Unemployment fell 35,000 in the three months to February 2012 - the first recorded quarterly drop in official figures since May 2011 - the Office for National Statistics (ONS) today reported.

In what will be a welcome boost for the Government, the ONS labour market statistics showed 2.65 million people are currently unemployed.
