Trade union bosses have called for a second referendum on devolution in the North East, more than a decade after voters rejected plans for a regional assembly.

Delegates at the Northern Trade Unions Congress in Gateshead on 11 April voted in favour of a motion put forward by the GMB, which called on the Labour Party to establish a Commission for Regional Governance for the North if it wins next month's General Election.
