Union leaders meet ministers for cuts talks

Union leaders are meeting with Government ministers today as civil servants begin voting in a national strike ballot.

Union leaders are meeting with Government ministers today as over 250,000 civil servants begin voting in a national strike ballot over cuts to pensions, jobs and pay.

Senior union officials representing workers from across the public sector are due to hold talks at the Cabinet Office with minister Francis Maude and Danny Alexander, financial secretary to the Treasury ahead of next month's expected announcement on implementing Lord Hutton's report into public sector pensions.
