Unions move closer to summer strike action

Unite members working for councils have rejected a pay offer from local government employers and the union will now ballot on strike action.

Unite members working for councils have rejected a pay offer from local government employers and the union will now ballot on strike action.

While the union would not reveal how many members participated in the vote it revealed that 75% had rejected the offer on the table and 90% of those opposing the deal supported a move to strikes.
