Talks aimed at resolving the dispute over public sector pensions reform will continue through December.

Talks aimed at resolving the dispute over public sector pensions reform will continue through December, but industrial action may continue into the New Year if negotiations with ministers prove unsuccessful, union leaders have warned.

In the aftermath of the 30 November 'day of action', unions representing the four sector schemes, led by TUC general secretary Brendan Barber are expected to resume formal talks - headed on the coalition's side by Danny Alexander, chief secretary to the Treasury and minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude.
