Unison calls for end to 'scandalous' pay

Local government pay has been branded a 'scandalous' by union bosses, with more than 500,000 paid below the living wage.

Local government pay has been branded a 'scandalous' by union bosses, with more than 500,000 paid below the living wage. 

As the benchmark pay for an adequate standard of living is set to rise, Unison is calling for a £1 an hour pay rise for local government workers in a bid to bring the lowest paid up to the Living Wage.
