Unison refutes call for 'ruthless' pay and pensions reform

Unison rebutts report by Centre for Policy Studies on public sector pay and pensions which claims mininsters are losing negotiations.

Trade union Unison has rebutted a report issued today by think tank the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) on public sector pay and pensions, accusing it of trotting out 'tired old arguments, pitting public against private sector workers.'

In CPS study entitled ‘The £100 billion negotiations', pensions expert Michael Johnson cites ONS figures indicating more generous pension entitlements boost the average pay packages of public sector workers 13% higher than private sector ones.
