Unison set for 10 July walkout after strike vote

Council bosses have branded as ‘disappointing’ the decision by members of the Unison trade union to take industrial action over the latest pay deal.

Council bosses have branded as ‘disappointing' today's decision by members of the Unison trade union to take industrial action over the latest pay deal.

The ballot was held after Local Government Employers put forward a pay deal offering a repeat of last year's 1% pay increase – which was grudgingly accepted by unions on the basis it at least broke the three-year sector pay freeze.
