Ahead of a Local Government Association Conference workshop on how councils can respond to the cost of living crisis, Lee Hemsworth outlines how the approach of the Leeds Poverty Truth Commission has evolved since 2014.

I remember the first Leeds Poverty Truth Commission Launch in Leeds. It was 2014 and the banqueting suite at the Civic Hall was standing room only.

The vividness of the community commissioners' stories were powerful, stark and unambiguous in their clarity. You couldn't help but be motivated by what was said and I was just there to see what all the fuss was about.
