A united voice

Hertfordshire CC’s approach to supporting LBGT+ young people is winning plaudits across the country. Richard Roberts explains how the county has targeted aid

One year after Hertfordshire CC was named as one of the UK's top 100 employers for supporting its LGBT+ staff, I am delighted that our work with the county's young lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender plus (LGBT+) community is also winning plaudits.

Our Youth Connexions service's work to support and engage LGBT+ young people was an important development that contributed to Hertfordshire CC and Herts for Learning this year achieving Stonewall's accolade of Britain's best local authority for tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in schools.
