Uniting to end homelessness

A unique partnership between Haringey LBC and charity Shelter is being piloted to deliver greater support for those at risk of becoming homeless. Ben Tovey explains the importance of collaboration between councils and expert charities

The core belief of Shelter is that everyone should have a safe, secure and affordable place to call home. This year marks our 50th anniversary, but we are not celebrating. It is clear that sadly there is still a lot of work to be done before we succeed in our mission to end bad housing and homelessness.

Shelter's new partnership with Haringey LBC is a positive step forward in that mission. It aims to identify people at risk of losing their home as early as possible, find sustainable solutions and prevent homelessness in the borough.
